Tech accessories are no longer a fashion travesty—thanks to LaQuan Smith and Samsung. The fashion designer, who is beloved by stars including Beyoncé, Hailey Bieber, Khloé Kardashian, and the Real Housewives of New York City’s Brynn Whitfield, teamed up with the electronics company on a limited-edition line of pajamas inspired by the Galaxy Ring—a new smart ring that offers daily health and wellness tracking in the form of a titanium, silver, titanium gold, and titanium black band. Models showed off the sultry sleepwear, titled Lucid Dream, on Smith’s spring/summer 2025 runway during New York Fashion Week on September 9.
A chartreuse nightgown with a plunging neckline, a sheer duster coat, and loose silky pants—the Lucid Dream pieces were provocatively elegant. “I stayed true to the bold, glamorous designs that define my brand,” Smith told StyleCaster. “I infused the collection with distinctive elements that embody my unapologetic aesthetic.” In addition to encapsulating the Galaxy Ring’s sleekness, the sleepwear collection symbolizes the device’s versatility and ability to pair well with anything. “The conclave design makes it super comfortable to wear all the time; sleeping, working out, sketching designs, you name it, so the Galaxy Ring became an extension of my everyday lifestyle and style aesthetic,” Smith explained.
Some have hailed smart devices as tacky, but Smith believes tech accessories can “absolutely complement formal wear when styled thoughtfully.” He explained to StyleCaster, “My focus has always been on blending glamor with modernity, so incorporating smart devices like the Galaxy Ring into formal attire aligns perfectly with that vision. It’s about finding the right balance and ensuring that technology enhances rather than detracts from the overall look. As long as it adds a touch of sophistication and functionality, I’m all for it.”
As far as 2025 trends go, Smith predicts health and wellness will be at the forefront and the Galaxy Ring makes it easy. “Through the Galaxy Health App, I’m able to tap into sleep coaching that I reference when I need help getting on track,” Smith explained. And, naturally, an emphasis on beauty sleep allows for beautiful clothes when you go to sleep. “I’m loving the sophisticated twist on the classic pajama. Luxe silk nightgowns and elegant two-piece sets are both making a strong statement,” Smith shared. “The key is to choose pieces that blend comfort with high fashion, offering a sense of glamor even in loungewear. These trends let you effortlessly embrace style and relaxation, making every moment feel a bit more special.”
Outside of sleepwear, Smith said 2025 will be a “vibrant resurgence of bold, energetic colors. Expect to see lively shades like electric blue and radiant coral leading the way.”
